Our mission at the Therapy & Learning Center remains consistent and proven. For decades, supporting and strengthening development in every phase of a child’s life. TLC serves over 3,000 individuals annually in West Tennessee that need specialized support for developmental delays, special diagnoses, disabilities or medical needs. We provide an avenue of assistance filled with compassionate care to families navigating their child's path to successful development.
Caring for a child with a special need or medical need can be costly. Specialized equipment, medicine, therapy and other medical appointments and procedures are financially draining. Many of our patients have many extensive needs that make it difficult for a parent or caregiver to work full-time and properly care for their child. Additionally, many daycares are not equipped to serve children with severe needs. TLC relies on donations and fundraising to help support the needs of the children we serve, as well as provide specialized activities for our families to participate in year-round.
Our specialized Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy team provides treatment in a child-friendly clinic or in their school to assist with a variety of developmental abilities like speech, eating, daily life skills, physical strengthening, and social confidence.
Providing support for children birth - 4 years who qualify for Tennessee Early Intervention Services (TEIS). Our team of Eligibility Evaluators & Developmental Therapists assist caregivers in their homes with tools to encourage success in the early years of their child's growth.
Therapy disguised as fun! That is our goal with our Therapeutic Horseback Riding & Hippotherapy program. While a child is riding, our specialized team of therapists and instructors uses our trained horses' movement and soothing demeanor to strengthen coordination, speech, social skills and much more! This program is completely funded by generous donors and fundraising so that no family is financially burdened for their child to receive this beneficial therapy treatment. Volunteers are also crucial to Rein-Bow Riding’s success each Tuesday night.
